On Thursday evenings the boards come out in the Südstadt, in Lauf and in Röttenbach. SC Schwarz-Weiß Nürnberg Süd plays in the cafeteria of the Südstadtforum, after its youth training at six; the Schachverein Lauf meets at the inn Zur Linde in Lauf-Heuchling, with blitz games and training after the children’s hour; and the Schachtreff Röttenbach sets up on the ground floor of the citizens’ meeting place, with youth chess from four in the afternoon.
Thursday afternoon is also the time for older players in Nürnberg. The chess group of the Treff Bleiweiß, the municipal seniors’ centre in the Südstadt, plays from noon to four in its cafeteria, and SC Noris-Tarrasch holds a chess afternoon for the middle-aged and seniors in the Loni-Übler-Haus.
