The school's chess working group hosted the 3rd Hersbruck school chess championship on 19 July 2025 with 24 players from the primary schools of the region, the Gymnasium and the Mittelschule (post of 29 July 2025), and its U16 team became Middle Franconian vice champion at the school championship in Erlangen on 30 November 2024 (post of 9 December 2024).
